What is YAG laser capsulotomy?
Months or even years after cataract surgery, your vision may become blurry. YAG laser capsulotomy is a surgery to reduce that blurriness after cataract surgery. This happens when the posterior capsule becomes cloudy. The doctor uses a YAG laser and makes an opening in the posterior capsule. This will let light pass through the clouded capsule and reach your retina.
After Surgery
After the surgery has been completed there should be no pain and no need for stitches or bandages. The doctor may ask you stay after surgery for up to 2 hours to check for pressure in your eye. You should be able to return to your normal routine the day after surgery but it may take up to 2 days for your vision to be fully clear. Let your doctor know if you have any pain.
